GOOF ON THE ROOF PART II ~ December 12, 2007
Ravens fan vows not to come down unless Ravens win or Billick is fired

Diehard Ravens’ fan Ronnie Stack has seen enough.  Like most of you he has painfully weathered the Ravens’ current seven game losing streak and he has chosen to take matters into his own hands as part of an effort to inspire the team to victory this week in Miami.

Stack has decided that he will hold a vigil atop the roof of his favorite watering hole, Canton Station on the corner of O’Donnell Street and Conkling Avenue. Stack vows that he will not come down from his rooftop perch until one of two things happens: 1) the Ravens end their losing streak or; 2) Brian Billick is fired.

“I just want to show the Ravens team and organization that their losses affect all of us”, Stack said.  “I want the team to know that we support them, and really want a victory!”

When asked why he isn’t a supporter of Brian Billick Stack said, “Enough is enough.  I think that nine seasons of a struggling offense is enough proof that Billick’s system can’t get it done.  The Ravens defense is good enough to win.  The offense is good enough to lose.”

Canton Station owner Darren Petty, also a diehard Ravens fan, promises that he and his staff will do all that they can to support Stack and make him comfortable during his vigil.

“Ronnie is a great guy with outstanding spirit”, said Petty.  “He said he hoped to give the team just a little added incentive to make the best of a very bad season.  We fully support his efforts and we hope that Ronnie’s spirit will lift those of Ravens’ fans that have soured on the team.”

Stack plans to remain atop his perch 23 hours each day, leaving for only one hour to take care of personal obligations. He is hopeful that Ravens fans throughout Baltimore will stop by and say hello and share some holiday cheer.

“By all means stop on by”, Stack exclaimed.  “Ravens fans are one big happy family and ‘tis the season to be jolly.  So let’s have at it!”

When asked what he will do if the Ravens fail to win during the balance of ’07 and if Brian Billick retains his job as expected Stack said, “I’ll come down after the Steelers’ game and then go back up on Opening Day of 2008 and begin the vigil again.”

Canton Station’s address is 1028 S. Conkling Street, Baltimore, MD 21224.  Owner Darren Petty can be reached at Canton Station 410-327-2004.
