Sorry I'm late - been busy all day. We're down 17-7 to the Vikings, mainly because Walker and Ivy have been useless.

Troy looks pretty good though, and Ray Rice is dominating. GO RAVENS!!

2nd and 7, WOW. Troy eludes 2 sackers, and Troy makes some STELLAR moves to scramble for 18 and into Vikes territory! Unbelievable moves.

I only saw bits and pieces of the first half, but Smith played the whole half and only threw five passes? It looked to me like the Vikings held the ball a lot, but even so, five passes? I was hoping to get a better look at him than that, because I already know he can run. He might even be a little too eager to run, although the pass protection might have something to do with that, as in last weeks game.

I guess my other problem is that Smith's line is this: 3/5 for 25 yards and 1 INT. Yes, Smith ran like the wind. But how in the world do you evaluate Troy Smith based on 5 passes in a whole half???

I'd cut his reps in preseason games and just give him the majority in practice while allowing the other two to get the majority of the preseason reps to hopefully bring them along. But as long as the starter is up for question you can't do that. It also seems that Flacco is not in that discussion anymore so Troy and Boller will get the most reps unless today was so bad the coaching staff decides to rethink that stance.

Colt Brennan has been surprisingly impressive this preseason. Henne - nice numbers but a lot of passes for only 133 yds. Schaub is a stud.

Just once again for perspective, I offer this:

Troy Boller = 11/17, 65 yards total (Yes, I did that on purpose)

Tavarius Jackson = 7/11, 82 yards
Gus Frerotte = 4/9, 69 yards
Brooks Bollinger = 7/15, 63 yards

Two out of three Viking's QB's threw for more yards than Troy and Kyle COMBINED.

I'm serious. Just flip a coin and name one of these two guys the starter and be done. Either way it's going to be a LONG year.

I like it better then 6/6 for 27 that Boller was at one point. At least there were some down the field throws but honestly not sure anyone is going to look good behind the the center with the tackles the way they are at the moment.

10-15 yards was downfield for todays game it seems. I just think a 2 yard pass on 3 and 7 is worth throwing.

Honestly, when the both of them together get all of 65 yards with an interception apiece, I don't think there is a way to say "well, one was better than the other".

I'm just not sure how you can say MUCH good other than Troy ran pretty good and Boller completed the first 8 passes before imploding.

True but Smith showed rookie like mistakes and Boller showed what Boller does so at the end they both are basically equal and on the bad side of QB play no less. Looks like it will go all preseason and even then we might not really know who will start week one.
